When she visits an authentic-looking pub, Olivia is seemingly transported back in time to the English Renaissance where unprecedented adventure awaits. The play follows the events of the Lord Chamberlain's Men stealing The Theatre to build The Globe circa 1598 and features many beloved historical figures, including John Heminges, Richard Burbage, Will Kemp, and the bard himself.
A small Canadian town is host to a summer theatre festival. All of the characters from Shakespearean canon live in the town year-round hoping that the next season they will get to perform their story. The characters live in harmony with the out-of-towners (characters from non-Shakespeare plays who move to town when their show is performed during the season). Touchstone, Benedick, and Em hang out at the local poutine restaurant as they always do until a murder upends their normal.

In this play within a play (sometimes within another play), actors with prop scripts in hand earnestly invite us into their backstage world of makeup, make-believe, and messes. Avery, a passionate theatre hobbyist and sufferer of undeclared love, invites us to fall in love with this tight-knit group of struggling artists, some of whom are struggling more than others. Their stories weave together and apart in complex and sometimes ironic ways - and these actors aren't afraid to look you in the eye and tell you exactly how they feel.
